Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a 1937 American animated feature based on the fairy tale of the same name by the Brothers Grimm. It was the first full-length animated feature in motion picture history, as well as the first animated feature film produced in America, the first produced in full color, the first to be produced by Walt Disney, and the first to be considered a Walt Disney Animated Classic.
Princess Snow White is a princess living with her vain and wicked stepmother the Queen. Fearing Snow White’s beauty, the Queen forced her to work as a scullery maid and would daily ask her Magic Mirror “who is fairest one of all.” The mirror would always answer that the Queen was, pleasing her.
As snow white reaches youth, the Magic Mirror informs the queen that Snow White is now the fairest in the land. The jealous queen orders her huntsman to take Snow White into the woods and kill her. That is when snow white runs for refuge in dwarfs home and befriends them and twist and turns happen throughout the story.
It doesn’t get more ‘classic Disney’ than Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Each lovable character is featured: Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, Sneezy, Sleepy, Doc, Happy and Bashful. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a charming design.
